The Arts (Prep)

Music, Drama and The Arts at the Prep School

Bromsgrove Preparatory School has a thriving Music, Drama and Arts Department.

Music is based in the Music School providing excellent facilities for our musicians, including the use of Routh Concert Hall. There is an exciting Strings programme for all pupils in Year 3 and a Brass and Woodwind programme for all pupils in Year 5.

The Prep School has an extensive range of Ensembles ranging from Orchestra, Flute Group, Brass Band to Jazz Group and Ukuleles.

The Preparatory School has a Junior Choir, a Senior Choir and a Chapel Choir. There are many wonderful opportunities for all choristers to perform, both in school, in Music Festivals, Cathedrals and world famous concert halls. Most recently, the choir performed at the Royal Albert Hall as winners of the Barnardo's National Choral Competition

All pupils study Drama as part of the curriculum and are also able to participate in high quality drama productions each year. The purpose built Cobham Theatre is based within the Preparatory School and offers all pupils the opportunity to perform on stage or as part of the Company by working backstage in lighting, sound, costume, props or stage management.

The Preparatory School has a thriving Art department, based in the Llanwrtyd Centre. It is spacious and light filled and offers all pupils the opportunity to work creatively with many different media. You can find out more about the art department by visiting their departmental page.
