Remembering Colin Dexter, OBE

Remembering Colin Dexter, OBE

Posted: 23/03/2017

The School was saddened to hear of the death of Colin Dexter OBE, former Vice-President of the Housman Society, who died aged 86 on Tuesday, 21st March. Mr Dexter reopened Bromsgrove’s Sixth Form boarding House, Housman Hall in 2006 in a special ceremony. At the time, Mr Dexter told attendees that he was honoured to be asked to formally open the building which was named after A.E. Housman, Classical Scholar and Poet, and an Alumnus of Bromsgrove School.

Colin Dexter is perhaps best known as a crime writer, and one of his novels was later made into the ITV series, Inspector Morse.

Our thoughts are with Mr Dexter’s family, his friends and members of the Housman Society at this time.
