National Storytelling Week

National Storytelling Week

Posted: 04/02/2022

To celebrate National Storytelling Week, Pre-Prep pupils have enjoyed the opportunity to share more stories with their friends, and to hear stories read by children or staff from different year groups. A number of parents also kindly volunteered to come into the classrooms at the end of the teaching day to read favourite stories to the children in each year group. Thank you to those parents that were able to join in and to the children in Years 1 and 2 for reading to our children in Nursery and Reception.

On Wednesday, the School held a ‘Book Swap’ within each year group and this was a lovely and successful event to see. It is a difficult idea for many children at this age to bring one of their well-loved books to School and to exchange it for a different book. However, all of the children thoroughly enjoyed the chance to find a new (to them) book and to see their friends going home with one that they had chosen to bring in. We hope that these books will become family favourites in their new homes.

Our competition winners to find the most unusual reading spot are:

Faaryah M (RME)
Eivani J (RS)
Charlotte S (1C)
Ted S (1JL)
Layla D (1L)
Charlotte B (2M)
Chloe H (2W)

The winners each received a National Book Token in Assembly, provided by the PA.
