Marmite More Able Society

Marmite More Able Society

Over the last three weeks, Year 7 and 8 members of the Marmite More Able Society have met with Dr Ruben and discussed this term’s theme ‘What would I do in a Zombie Apocalypse?’. Nothing scary (although we did take a detour to discuss whether zombies can swim); rather an allegorical means of reflecting on skill sets. Often, when infrastructure has been affected, the less glamorous, more specific or unusual gifts and talents can be the ones which change the world. Various means of framing and celebrating diverse skills were considered, as were responses to specific crises and disasters.

Students were gloriously enthusiastic and knowledgeable – as ever a privilege to teach, worthy of the ‘George A Romero Anti-Zombie Award’ - and genuinely a bright hope for the future.
