The average IB score achieved by Bromsgrove’s cohort of 69 students is 40.1: equivalent to better than 4 A*s at A Level using the old UCAS tariff.
• All Bromsgrove students scored above the IB’s world average score of 30 points and 43 students (almost two-thirds of the total cohort) scored 40 or more points.
• Four students achieved the coveted 45 point maximum (Leonie Sackers, Jolene Koh, Lucia Goodwin and Nic Bamberger).
• Three students scored 44 points (Baris Cavusoglu, Eric Li and Philip Pietzsch).
• These seven students, scoring 44 or more points, represent 10% of the total IB cohort for the year.
Academic staff were tasked with predicting students’ grades within the range of the School’s historic norms. The School’s strong past results allowed teachers to predict grades with confidence and strong performance in externally marked coursework enhanced the results received by many of the students.
In this most difficult of years, with the students collectively being extremely disrupted by lockdowns, quarantines and the need to work online, all subject teachers and pupils deserve great credit.
