Academic Extension Programme 2021
Posted: 14/01/2021
Our Academic Extension Programme for all year groups launches next week.
This year, universities expected students applying for 2021 entry to be able to clearly state what they had done ‘extra’ during lockdown to develop their skills and knowledge beyond basic A Level, BTEC or IB course content. As we move into lockdown again, it will be all the more important for students looking for university entry in 2022 and beyond to be able to show that they have been willing to invest time exploring their areas of future interest. Whilst the studying of open access online MOOCs is very strongly encouraged, this document outlines the main areas of academic enrichment that are available to students this term.
The main target audience is members of the current Lower Sixth, however both Upper Sixth and Fifth Formers are warmly invited to join into sessions.
From Saturday 16th January, the School is offering a varied voluntary opt-in academic programme that aims to help strengthen future university applications. The intention is to run sessions every Saturday of term (except Saturday 23rd January).
