Are you interested in a place at Bromsgrove Preparatory School for your child? Co-educational, day and boarding from Years 3-8.



Our Entrance Examinations take place on Saturday, 11th January 2020. To find out more, or to register your child for the entrance examinations, please email admissions@bromsgrove-school.co.uk

All examinations will be held at our Preparatory School and pupils should report to the Prep Dining Room, Bromsgrove Preparatory School, Old Station Road, Bromsgrove, B60 2AF (postcode for sat nav).


The arrangements for the day are as follows,

For entry in to Years 3 - 6:
9.00am Arrival to the Prep dining room
9.30am CAT4 Part 1
10.10am Break
10.20am CAT4 Part 2
11.10am Break
11.20am CAT4 Part 3
12.10pm Lunch
1.00pm Creative Writing Exercise
1.45pm Collection from dining room

For entry in to Years 7 and 8:
8.30am Arrival to the Prep dining room
9.00am CAT4 Part 1
9.40am Break
9.50am CAT4 Part 2
10.40am Break
10.55am CAT4 Part 3
11.45am Break
11.50am General Knowledge Paper
12.30pm Prep School lunch and short tour
1.20pm Creative Writing Essay
2.00pm Collection from Dining Room

*Timings are subject to alteration on the day, should the need arise.


All testing will take place in small classrooms supervised by Preparatory School teachers. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Please advise the Admissions Department of any dietary requirements as soon as possible.

Pupils will need to bring a pencil case and a reading book. As this is not a school day, smart casual clothing is required. Drinks, snacks and a hot lunch will be provided. You may wish to supply a water bottle. Children should not wear smart watches or bring mobile phones. Calculators are not permitted.

Should your child have any specific learning difficulties, we require a written request accompanied by an Educational Psychologist’s report. We do not offer extra time in our entrance examinations, except for the creative essay.

If your child is unwell on the day, please do not worry. There will be another opportunity to sit our examinations.

Offers of a place will be sent in writing by first class post during the week commencing Monday, 20th January 2020. We are unable to give results over the telephone or via email.
