The Senior School students enjoyed an Own Clothes Day during the Michaelmas Term in support of Sense, the national charity for people with complex communication needs such as deafblindness.

Rev Hedworth and the Charity Reps, Meredith A and Eleanor R selected the charity after learning about the close connection that had developed between the School and the local Sense centre in Selly Oak, known as TouchBase Pears.

Over the last few years staff from the centre have regularly visited Bromsgrove to support our extra-curricular programme, specifically the Deaf Culture and Communication activity hosted by Dr Rimmer. Young people from TouchBase Pears have built friendships with our students through a buddy programme during which students volunteered at events such as accessible cycling in Sutton Park, bowling in Rubery, and art activities at TouchBase Pears. We are looking forward to these reciprocal visits restarting.

The recent fundraising at School achieved £1500 - well done to the charity reps for their outstanding work.
