The tennis season starts after the Easter break when we go straight into matches on the first Saturday of the Summer Term. 

Our 8 newly resurfaced courts provide an excellent facility for both practices and matches and not a lunch break goes by without all of them being utilised to the full – particularly when the sun is shining.  We have a tennis coach who comes into school regularly to assist with the team players and work on tactical play for the doubles matches, and he also offers individual coaching for those who are interested in improving their stroke play. 

As well as the weekend block fixtures the school also enters a Notional Cup Competition at U15 level for both the boys and the girls.  In this competition the pupils get a chance to compete in singles as well as doubles and to pit their wits against school they we would not normally compete against.  One of the highlights of the term for the girls is always the Inter-House Tennis Competition which, as is the way with all House competitions, is hotly contested.
