The School has an extensive Cross Country fixture list. Races are evenly split between 4 to 6 man relays and straight cross country races for individual and team honours. We compete in a league over the Easter term with other independent school such as Rugby, Oakham and Uppingham. The league is based on three races over the term each counting to the final individual or team result. The school's most important race comes at the end of term when we compete in the Midland and Northern Independent Schools Championship.
On an individual basis all runners have the option to compete in the County Championships which, if successful, can lead them on to compete for Worcestershire at the English Schools National Championships. Training is based around long runs and interval work during the week, with races usually at the weekend. For the middle distance runners the cross country season gives excellent strength work for the track season in the summer.
