19th March The Easter Holiday
commences
after school today at 16:00. Have a lovely time together as families and a
relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Congratulations to Philip Johnson who received
his School Cap (Football) and Major School Colours (Rugby) from the Headmaster in this morning’s Routh
Hall Assembly. Jake Burley received his Major Colours for Football. As the School team Basketball captain Odin
Leung received the County trophy and also his major Colours.
Tuesday
18th March Wendron- Gordon House End of term Assembly. Congratulations to the many boys who were commended
for their support and participation in the varied house competitions and
school life as a whole this term. Very well done to Jake
Burley (Senior)
and William Packwood (Junior) won the Endeavour
cups for the this
term. Junior and Senior House Colours for this academic year will be
awarded at the end of the Summer term.
Monday
17th March Junior House Football House. For the first time in some while we were able to put
out an A and B team in a house competition; really pleasing to see and some
good results too with the A team coming second overall and our B team
5th. Very well done to: A team

Edward Gaffney, Martin Hartill, Philip Johnson (Captain) and Mike Wong.
4th Form Assembly also took place this afternoon.
Michael Smallshaw (Basketball) and Adam Robertson (Football) were
highly commended for their contributions to junior school sport. Very well
done to both.
Wednesday 6th March
Interhouse 1.2km relay competition. A good performance from the house this year. Thank you

William Packwood and Vladimir Tachev. Great spirit! Well done also to Mike
Wong for his performances in the Pop and Jazz evenings.

Thursday 28th February. Well done to Arsalan Sattari of his performance as Kim in the
school drama production this term Last of the Great Romantics; a
musical comedy of boy meets girl, romance, deception and mistaken identity.
Friday 22nd February. Very many congratulations to
Friedrich Conrad who has been awarded a 16+ Academic Scholarship and
also to Odin Leung who has won an Academic Exhibition. Both are
prestigious awards within the school and it is therefore especially
pleasing to see two of our current 5th formers secure such
accolades.
Wednesday 20th
February Thank
you to our Senior and Junior Interhouse Cross-country teams who ran
so well this afternoon for the House. Seniors: Martin Hartill (Manager),

visited Bath Abbey with the School Choir to sing Choral Evensong.
The sound was by all account quite superb. Well done to both boys.
Thursday 7th February
A very happy
Chinese New Year 新年快樂 from Wendron-Gordon House.
Well done to Prankit Gupta and
Adam Roberson who have been performing for the last two evenings in the
school’s production of Shakespeare’s tragic-comedy Twelfth
Night. The two boys also read this morning in our weekly Chapel Communion
service.
Wednesday 6th
February It was
our turn to deliver Chapel this morning, the theme being Criticism.
Thank you to Mr Baldock for his stimulating and interesting thoughts and
also to Frank Xie who read so well to the school. Not a challenge to be
undertaken lightly but one met in full by Frank.
Monday 4th February Congratulations to Nicholas Wang
who won the Senior instrumental music competition this afternoon. A
superb achievement especially since it is the second year running he has
won the competition.

Monday 28th January Thank you to Arsalan Sattari
and Friedrich Conrad who represented the house in the Senior Debating
Inter-house Competition this afternoon. Against Housman Hall they
opposed the motion “National Service should be re-introduced.”
Well done to both boys who debated strongly. We await the result.
Sunday 27th January Congratulations to Paul Diefenhardt who
played in the National U18 Hockey competition over the weekend
representing the School. Although
the team made it to the final at the NIA arena they narrowly lost; despite
this a superb achievement.
Wednesday 16th January Well done to Adam Robertson who won the Junior
Inter-house Singing House Competition with his rendition of Come Fly
with me; a terrific performance.
Saturday 13th January. Very well done to our Junior
House Hockey team who played extremely well narrowly missing a place in
the final of this afternoon’s Inter-house competition. Thank you to
Daniel Gaffney (Captain) and the team Thomas Allen, Daniel Bell, Jamie
Birtle, Dave Cho, Michael Cummings, Dmitry Eremeev, Harry Gray, Prankit
Gupta, Christopher Johnson, Path Pippattanaskul, Jack Roberts, Adam
Robertson, Michael Smallshaw, and Vladimir Tachev. Congratulations also to Adam Robertson who
has won a place in the finals of the Junior Interhouse Music Competition
which takes place on Wednesday next week.
