One the finest Art Departments in the country, whether measured in terms of results, facilities, originality of work or leavers’ destinations, the Bromsgrove Art Department prides itself on being a hotbed of creativity.

We offer pupils a wide range of inter-disciplinary areas including Fine Art, 3D Design, Textiles, film and photography. Pupils are encouraged to be ambitious, confident, imaginative and industrious and it is our aim to give them the best experience possible in the subject, regardless of ability or experience. It is also our aim to enrich, empower and enlighten pupils both culturally and spiritually. Independence of thought is encouraged and dialogue debate and discussion between pupils and teachers is imperative. Many take full advantage of the department’s open door policy during activity slots, evenings and weekends. Many of our pupils progress to the finest Art schools in the country including the Slade School of Fine Art; Central St Martins; Chelsea College of Arts and the Courthauld Institute.

Our four teaching staff are highly qualified, enthusiastic practitioners who are passionate about their subject. The Art Department has an impressive track record of running trips both in the UK and abroad. Recent sojourns have taken in Barcelona, Paris and New York, and future trips include an 8 day Italian extravaganza taking in such delights as Florence, Venice, Rome, Pompeii and the Amalfi coast. Cultural visits of this nature fire the imagination and afford pupils the opportunity to interact with examples of ‘live’ art work
