Bromsgrove v MCC
Posted: 29/04/2016
An awful weather forecast for later in the day contributed to a discussion to reduce the Bromsgrove 1st team V MCC game to a 35 overs per side match instead of the usual traditional time game.
The MCC batted first and were bowled out for 190 in the final over, James Kinder taking 4 wickets for 38 runs from his 7 overs supported by Jordan Smith who took 3 wickets for 30 runs from his 7 overs.
A great run chase unfolded with Henry Moberley making a patient 58 and James Kinder a stylish 53 from 36 balls. With 7 wickets down Bromsgrove needed 29 runs from 4 overs with James Taylor (13*) and Jack Harding (14*) new to the crease; a fine mature partnership saw Bromsgrove get home without losing another wicket with 2 balls to spare.
A great victory for the boys against experienced league cricketers.
