“Jungle Fever” in Year 3

“Jungle Fever” in Year 3

Posted: 27/04/2017

On Monday, our intrepid Year 3 explorers began their adventure into the Jungle with a trip to Bristol Zoo, for their new learning theme, “Jungle Fever”.

Pupils enjoyed an exciting education session in the ‘rainforest room’, where they learnt lots of fascinating and useful information about rainforests, the importance of rainforests and how they can help to conserve them. They also participated in some brilliant activities and encountered some live rainforest creatures as part of this session. Every child was invited to hold a hissing cockroach, were introduced to a Lampropeltis Triangulum -more commonly known as a milk snake- and all stroked a Madagascan tenrec.

Year 3 also had time to explore the Zoo and had great fun looking out for all of the different rainforest creatures; a firm favourite was the two-day old baby gorilla.

The children received compliments from both members of the public and Zoo staff regarding the exemplary standard of their behaviour and manners.
