ICT is regarded as being a whole-school tool, applied in all subject areas, with all age groups. Years 3 and 4 become familiar with the computer and a number of applications and software packages through discrete lessons and substantial classroom practice with their form teachers. Up-to-date technology, such as interactive whiteboards, enhance an already rich curriculum. Years 5 and 6 benefit from similar arrangements but in the latter of these years, more emphasis is put on applying and using ICT for different purposes, with the children becoming more independent users of computers. Year 7 is currently the Year in which a definitive, structured approach is applied to the subject, by guiding the pupils though the first stage of the nationally recognised CLAIT awards.

In Year 8, pupils are given the opportunity to express themselves freely within subject based ICT projects and investigations. Thus we are very confident that, when our pupils leave the Preparatory School, they are totally equipped for the uses and challenges that modern technology will demand of them in their future education.
