There are four main kinds of report in the Prep School; Parent Consultation Evenings, Tutor Letters, a full report and an interim report.
Parent Consultation Evenings offer the opportunity for teachers to report orally to parents on a pupil’s progress. If parents are unable to attend the specified evening for their child, alternate year group dates are offered and parents may arrange to see individual teachers at any time.
Years 3 and 4 receive tutor letters at the end of the Michaelmas term from their class teacher, these will include comments from the subject specialists who also teach these pupils.
The interim report is written at the end of the Michaelmas Term for Years 5 to 8. This report concentrates on giving an overview of performance and outlining targets in each subject for the child to work towards in the next term.
Every parent also receives a full report at the end of the academic year with a more detailed commentary on a child’s performance and advice for the future. Both the interim and the full report are accompanied by a breakdown of the main topics covered in each subject, termly assessment percentages awarded in most subjects, along with year group averages to place the individual pupil’s marks in context.
In addition, effort grades are published half termly throughout the year.
The reporting schedule is published in the document library.
