For many young children, the exciting journey to adulthood takes them through the Bromsgrove School system, culminating in acceptance at some of Britain’s, indeed the world’s, finest universities.

The first step, as significant as any of the others, takes them through the doors of Bromsgrove Pre-Preparatory and Nursery School. This is a happy and friendly school catering for children aged 2+ to 6+, where each child is encouraged to play a full part in the life of the school. The happy atmosphere, structured framework and disciplined environment encourage the very youngest children to move confidently from home to more formal learning.

Founded in 1943 by Mrs Ottilie Hild as a private day school, and originally called Ottilie Hild School , it became part of Bromsgrove School in 1986. The school moved to its present spacious site at Avoncroft House in 2000. The impressive buildings of Avoncroft House were purpose converted to accommodate the needs of very young children and to provide facilities of a very high standard. The classrooms are spacious and light and the extensive grounds are used both as an extension of the classrooms and for recreation.

Facilities include interactive whiteboards, year group libraries, art room, assembly and sports hall and ICT provision in every classroom. Additionally the school has some excellent outdoor facilities, including an outdoor theatre, a woodland classroom and large fields for play and PE lessons.

We encourage you to come and experience for yourself the happy and stimulating atmosphere that exists both in the nursery and in the pre-preparatory classes, to see our children at work and at play and to talk to our caring and well-qualified staff. Only a visit can really demonstrate what Bromsgrove Pre-Prep and Nursery can offer your child on their first steps into education.
