BLOG 3 - Prep School Linguists of the Month

Last Updated: 15/10/2015 11:44:40

A new initiative from the MFL department has been launched at the Prep School. At the end of each month, the department members will select several pupils from their classes who have stood out for ‘excellence in languages’. The winners are not necessarily the most able, but may be those who have displayed tremendous levels of effort and enthusiasm.

As is the case for credits, there are three bands of age group; Year 3/4, Year 5/6 and Year 7/8. Two pupils will be selected from each band. The MFL staff had a very difficult decision to make, however this month the awards go to:

Year 3/4: Tom Grove and Ffion Wright
Year 5/6: Cyrus Passman and Tessa Pickering
Year 7/8: Hermione Lawther and JJ Williams

BLOG 2 - Spanish Theatre

Last Updated: 22/04/2014 15:10:21

The Spanish theatre production was an incredibly interesting event in Routh Hall for all Spanish speakers at Bromsgrove. The balance between comedy, magic and the Spanish language entertained all present. We all learnt something from the experience, it was hard not to. Whether we learnt how to say one word or whole phrases, it was a valuable experience for all age groups. The audience and actors interacted as some of our peers were taken on stage. It will be one of my fondest memories of my and I am sure it will remain with me for a long time. Gracias!

BLOG 1 - Spanish News

Last Updated: 26/02/2014 10:44:45

6th December 2013

This past week the Spanish Department has had an exciting new addition to its internationality. We now have a television broadcasting the news in Spanish. This has allowed us to be up to date on the news and up to date on our Spanish. Recently we have covered the fashion in Spain and its music traditions, we have looked at the art of flamenco and its origins from the peoples of India, North Africa and the roaming gypsies. The Spanish fashion designers such as Zara, Mango, and Adolfo Dominquez y Biscuit they hold all the keys to the various fashions wardrobes, trendy, sophisticated, exuberant but also original, antique or traditional. The fashion in Spain has been in existence since 1975 in the form of Zara which was set up shortly after the death of Franco and the liberation provided by it. It has since then been the reigning fashion designer. After the Christmas break Olivia Lyons and I shall be meeting Derek Bacon the Chief Examiner of AQA. After meeting him we shall attend a lecture upon how to write an essay which I for one am looking forward to.
