Pupils applying from outside the UK, are asked to apply via an educational agency.  The main reasons we require the use of educational agents are to help pupils through the selection process, assist with paperwork, legalities and translation.  In addition, since every pupil looking to enter Bromsgrove has to sit our Entrance Examination, it is necessary for a registered body to administer testing.

If a pupil is already studying with the UK we normally ask the pupil to visit Bromsgrove School to be interviewed and assessed.

Thank you for your interest in becoming an agent for Bromsgrove
School.
We have agents working for us throughout the world and we already recruit pupils from over 20 countries world-wide.  We are happy to consider bright, high achieving students who are likely to go on to top UK and other world-class universities. We stress that we can only consider very high calibre students and we do expect a reasonable level of fluency in the English language.  Bromsgrove School is not a language school and whilst we offer a great deal of extra support to our international pupils we do need a good level of understanding to begin with.

In order to act as an agent we do first require you to sign our Agents Agreement which can be obtained from our Marketing Department click here.  Before we can consider students for testing we do require our agents to supply us with the following information:

  • A completed agent's form for international students

  • A letter of application from the candidate - about 200 words in English to include details about themselves, their university and career aspirations and (for Sixth Form candidates, age 16+) likely AS level choices

  • An agent's report - a confidential report on the agent's thoughts regarding each applicant.  This should include such details as education, plans, family circumstances, personality and interests, and language ability.  We do expect our agents to give due consideration as to whether a candidate is likely to succeed in gaining a place here and hope that this report will give additional details that will not be evident from the candidate's application

  • The candidate's last two school reports, translated into English.

All the above can be faxed to us and should be sent for the attention of Mrs Kim Elvy, Senior Admissions Co-ordinator (fax 00 44 1527 872618). When we have received all the above information we will then instruct you as to whether or not we will be proceeding with the application.

If we do wish to consider the application further, the agent will be notified by email and a Pupil Registration Form should be completed. The completed form should be posted to us with the £50.00 Registration Fee and a photocopy of the pupil's passport.  Upon receipt of these we will issue the relevant test papers for the agent to administer.

Original copies of the test papers should be returned to us as soon as possible. A decision as to whether to offer a place will usually be made within 7 days of receipt,  unless we notify you differently.

Agents who successfully recruit pupils for Bromsgrove School are paid 10% of the first year’s fees and 5% of the second year’s fees as commission for each introduction. Commission is paid to agents when we have received payment of fees from pupils. Fees, and thus commission, are paid termly.

Please see the attached a pdf of our flowchart giving a detailed outline of the application procedure for agents.
